We want to inspire and excite people by developing vibrant places that foster a sense of identity and make cities more attractive, livable, and sustainable.

At home in many real estate classes, we construct buildings and neighborhoods. With almost 40 years of experience and successful projects in major cities, we are one of the leading project developers, especially in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Whether we are constructing new buildings or revitalizing existing ones, our highly experienced team develops the best solution for every location. We also work on sophisticated neighborhoods and take on challenging project requirements.

The Landmarken family is agile, reliable, and open. Working with us will always feel right. Because we focus on creativity, quality, and solutions—but also on social responsibility, which we are happy to take on.

What we focus on.

People – Planet – Success. This triad guides all our thoughts and actions. With our projects, we want to contribute to making our cities more livable.

We are guided by three questions

  • What do we do for the user?
  • What are we doing for society?
  • What are we doing for the planet?

Only when we can answer these questions with good solutions and concepts will the project be successful. That is why we constantly seek and find answers to these questions.

  • Human being

At Landmarken, people are at the heart of everything we do. For us, offering added value to society means developing livable residential, working, and recreational environments. We recognize people's different needs with a high degree of empathy and find solutions to meet them. We achieve a positive impact by permanently enriching the living or working situations of the users and neighbors of our projects and promoting community across generations and cultural differences. That is our contribution. The social return that this generates is our reward. Because there is nothing we love more than understanding our cities and the complex issues in urban areas and creating solutions for the challenges of the urban community.

  • Planet

Our living spaces are directly affected by the ecological consequences of our actions. Buildings in Germany are responsible for around 30 percent of all CO₂ emissions. This results in an enormous responsibility for project developers, which Landmarken is happy to take on. Building in a resource-efficient manner, preserving biodiversity, and using renewable energies are, for us, a natural contribution to climate goals. We also take the concepts of the "climate-resilient city," Circular economy, and alternative mobility are also taken into account in the living and working spaces we develop. But it is not only our projects that should be ecologically sustainable. We also strive to be as climate-friendly as possible in our own behavior, our working methods, and our business processes.

  • Success

At Landmarken, we measure success in more complex ways than just cash flow. For us, being successful means having a positive impact. It means having motivated, satisfied employees—and happy tenants. We measure our success by the contribution we make to society. Our goal is to generate profits with Landmarken's projects. After all, they are the basis for paying good wages and tackling new, even better projects. And that is exactly what we are achieving! Our real estate and neighborhood developments are the best proof that economic success and sustainable action go hand in hand. And so the social added value we create is at the core of our long-term economic success.

Ready for the next level? Let's talk now!

Every project begins with an idea—and with the wishes and ideas of our customers and project partners. We look forward to getting to know you and your idea better in conversation.

What drives us.

Our principles. That's why we go to work every morning full of motivation.

CREATING ADDED VALUE FOR SOCIETY

Together, we strive to make cities more sustainable and livable. Social benefits arise not only from the creation of unique architecture, but above all from the development of ecologically sustainable, vibrant places and the harmonious integration of people, whom we inspire and motivate to realize their individual ideas. With high standards of quality, we consider it our most rewarding task to create vibrant Landmarken that best serve the city and its people.

INSPIRE PEOPLE

For us, being human also means being humane. Empathetic, inspiring, enthusiastic. Only those who embrace their humanity know what other people want, recognize their individual needs, and know how to satisfy and even exceed them. Understanding cities and the complex expectations of their residents—for the benefit of people—that is the #LandmarkSpirit, which puts people at the center. This enables us to achieve something unique and create factual and emotional added value for a society in which we live well and happily – even in the long term and in our interactions with one another.

COURAGEOUSLY INVENTING THE EXTRAORDINARY

Standard was yesterday; individuality and innovation count today and tomorrow. For each and every one of us, this means questioning things. Looking at them differently. Daring to seek out the unknown and the new instead of sticking with the traditional. And yes: having the courage to try and learn from mistakes in order to grow together. This is how the broad knowledge of our interdisciplinary team is created. To this end, we promote talent and give each individual as much responsibility as possible. Based on ideas and impulses, we develop sustainable projects in our "future workshop" and turn them into concrete results. After all, we are curious by nature. And we are convinced that only those who drive new developments will make the world more ecological, more social, and better.

STAY STABLE, ACT AGILELY

Our greatest strength actually consists of two strengths. We see ourselves as a start-up with more than 30 years of experience. Our expertise and economic foundation give us stability. Our enjoyment of working with people, our spirit of discovery, and our courage to break new ground give us the flexibility we need to play a role in many innovative areas. Here, each individual sees themselves as an entrepreneur who drives things forward independently and on their own responsibility—for the benefit of the greater good. This interplay of stability and agility opens up new spaces for us, expands our possibilities, and creates opportunities for new, fresh ideas and forward-looking, sustainable solutions in the market.

How we behave

In order to bring our mission statement to life, we need a concrete approach that guides our actions. This Code of Conduct summarizes the essential principles and rules that govern our actions.

Who we support.

Through our membership in various initiatives, associations, and organizations, we support common ecological, economic, and social goals. Here are a few examples:

Federal Foundation for Building Culture

We were one of the first companies to sign the Landmarken Code for Building Culture. Our commitment to the core values of the Federal Foundation for Building Culture is an expression of our Landmarken philosophy and just one of many building blocks we are tackling in order to take responsibility for our environment and make our cities more attractive, livable, and sustainable.

DGNB

As a member of the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council), we feel closely connected to its ecological and economic ideals. We always approach project developments in such a way that they can be certified by the DGNB.

ICG

The Institute for Corporate Governance (ICG) was founded in 2002 and is committed to value-oriented, sustainable corporate governance. The members of the ICG share the conviction that economic value and values, compliance with the law and personal integrity, as well as economic, legal, and social responsibility together form the basis for corporate success and a good reputation for the industry.

ULI

The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is a global research and education organization for the real estate industry. In our efforts to make cities attractive, livable, and sustainable, we feel closely connected to the goals of the ULI. In close cooperation with other experts, we work together with local authorities to promote the improvement of quality of life in our cities: Jens Kreiterling as a member of the Executive Committee of the ULI Germany/Austria/Switzerland association.

ZIA

The German Property Federation (ZIA) represents the interests of the German real estate industry and, together with the Institute for Corporate Governance in the German Real Estate Industry (ICG), attaches great importance to the topic of CSR (corporate social responsibility). We are a member of the ICG working group on social impact investing and are delighted that the ZIA and ICG have highlighted our Guter Freund residential quarter in their CSR practical guide as one of the few examples of best practice in corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the residential sector recognized throughout Germany.
