Portrait of Claudia Mainz

I am a service provider from the bottom of my heart

Landmarke No. 32

We meet at the market square—right on time—for a coffee with Claudia Mainz. "I am a service provider at heart," says the business administration graduate and trained hotel manager. Claudia Mainz is the event and community manager at our new office campus. She spent years working in guest relations and quality management at the Parkhotel Quellenhof in Aachen—the top hotel in town, as they say in Aachen.

She loves not just keeping a special place in good condition, but also giving it warmth, charm, and beauty. "I have a very strong sense of style," says Claudia Mainz. She has professionalized her eye for this over the years, including in shopfitting.

Now she looks across the market square, jumps up, quickly clears away an empty bowl and says: "The transformation from the 'ostentatious and clunky 80s' that the building once exuded to the present day has been very successful. I like coming here not only because of the people, but also because of the building. It is inviting, charming, and dignified."

That's exactly what she and her team do. Together with Max Deutz and Anja Wehlings, she takes care of everything: events, catering, housekeeping, decoration, reception, and kitchen. But above all, she takes care of the people and the community. Much of the concept developed by our sister company, The Urban Village, is implemented here. With a mission to give buildings and spaces a face and bring them to life, the Urban Village team turns offices into places of inspiration, networking, and creativity. Just like in the new campus of the Landmarken family.

Pragmatic, friendly, sometimes strict

"We feel responsible for the needs of our colleagues and for ensuring that they feel comfortable," says Claudia Mainz. This sometimes means being strict. Above all, however, the team ensures that everyone feels welcome and comfortable here in a pragmatic, structured, and extremely friendly manner. "That's the spirit of our corporate family and the building," says Claudia Mainz, getting up again to greet a visitor.

There are days when she clocked up 11,000 steps just by moving around the building. Her smartwatch keeps count. The whole team is the same. Together, they fulfill the building's mission, bringing spirit and soul to it. "We think about offers and have lots of ideas—from sports to speed dating. Even if only half of them are implemented, a lot will happen."

But what does she herself like about the Landmarken family's new home? "My favorite places are the large kitchen and the fireplace room," she says. "But I'm actually always on the go and rarely sit anywhere." The building has an energy that comes from within itself, but also from what has been made of it. The materials provide warmth and color. And the most beautiful experience is when, at dusk, the disco ball makes the entire glass roof pyramid shine. "Even when you're alone in such a large space as the market square, you don't feel lost."

Meeting places here, quiet areas there: "It's really interesting to see who's sitting where. There's a suitable place for everyone." Whether working alone or together, communicating or concentrating – all employees can find the ideal workplace on campus.

The dedicated community and event management team ensures that this remains the case. And it's not just the three of them: "Without our janitors and cleaning staff, nothing would work here. They all do a great job," says Claudia Mainz and quickly takes her leave. The next task awaits, and the smartwatch is counting again.

"I always wanted to be a hotel manager. This is a wonderful opportunity to put my skills to use in exactly this field."

Exclusive event location

"We want to be the calling card for this building, which will be a very attractive venue for events," says Claudia Mainz. Requests for the multifunctional building are already pouring in. It is particularly interesting as a venue for business events. However, private celebrations, including weddings, are also conceivable in this extraordinary building with its special ambience.
