The first tenant has arrived, and others are waiting in the wings: since the former Continental tire factory site was handed over to the Landmarken family on July 1, there has been a lot going on around C-WERK. In addition to Continental AG, which has leased some space itself, the first new user has already moved in.
The online specialist retailer has moved into premises covering around 2,500 m². Further contracts are about to be signed. Interested parties come from sectors including the circular economy, energy industry, electrical engineering, research and development, and skilled trades.
In the long term, C-WERK will be developed step by step into a vibrant neighborhood. To this end, the site will be developed gradually over the coming years and supplemented with new buildings. The full strength of the Landmarken family will come into play here: Landmarken's expertise in neighborhood development, ecoPARKS' experience with urban production and light industrial, and Stadtmarken and Urban Village's marketing and operational expertise. An important building block of urban development!
The three stages of development
Phase 1 – Handover and integration
The Continental plant in Aachen becomes C-WERK. A team of real estate agents, architects, civil engineers, facility managers, property managers, tax advisors, and many other experts is on the ball.
Phase 2 – Temporary use and stabilization
70.000 m² of space (production, warehouse, and office) is being marketed and operated. Life is returning to the site, and new jobs are being created. Contact: Yannick Reichelt
Phase 3 – Demolition and project development
A sustainable district for urban production, light industry, and commerce is being created, combined with complementary uses such as offices, restaurants, and cultural facilities. The development is being closely coordinated with the City of Aachen's economic development department.
