Leonie Heuschäfer: big smile, bold ideas, real impact
Rethinking urban living—ecological, communal, circular: Leonie Heuschäfer has been committed to this since she entered the real estate industry in 2009 after completing her studies. As Head of Expansion at POHA House, she is looking for new locations for our sister company, which pursues precisely this goal:
Because the future of living is more than just four walls, POHA develops and operates environmentally conscious co-spaces for living, working, and gathering under one roof. POHA Houses are created either in sustainably transformed, existing inner-city buildings or in particularly eco-friendly new buildings such as Moringa, Europe's first cradle-to-cradle-inspired residential high-rise in Hamburg. POHA House's mission is to create spaces that have a positive impact. This includes environmentally friendly interior design with a particularly high proportion of recycled and recyclable materials.
"I believe that the economy is sustainable when it creates real added value—not only financially, but also socially and ecologically," says Leonie. So it's no surprise that before joining POHA, she was the project manager at Landmarken responsible for the very Moringa development that is now under construction. It is a true flagship project for ecological construction using circular materials, shared spaces, and the POHA living concept, which promotes social connection and conserves resources. Moringa is not just a building—it is a bold response to one of the greatest challenges of our time. Leonie co-initiated the project, put together the interdisciplinary team, and negotiated the building rights with HafenCity Hamburg GmbH.
Living in cities: more connected, circular, and radically human
Big smile, bold ideas, real impact: that's Leonie Heuschäfer. The architect with a master's degree in Real Estate Management and Construction Project Management (REM CPM), who studied in Cologne, Wuppertal, and Singapore, leads POHA House's international expansion with a team of four employees, making urban living more connected, circular, and radically human— through genuine community, seamless renting, and sharing as the most sustainable way of living. A concept that has already won the "So!Apart Award" and the "Coliving Awards" for its multiple implementations.
But there is more that drives her, such as the issues of female empowerment and diversity. "These are not buzzwords in the real estate industry, but real areas of action." And she is committed to them with all her strength: "I empower women, build communities, and put sustainability into practice— with heart, clarity, and a love of change," says Leonie. Her long-term goal: to lead a forward-looking real estate brand—sustainable development and international expansion in a coherent vision.
With this vision, she is already a real winner and was selected from over 500 applicants for Santander Germany's W50 program to promote female leaders. She is now part of an international network of 550 women from eleven countries. A network that is greatly strengthened by Leonie's addition.
"We create attractive co-spaces with cradle-to-cradle-certified or reused interiors, award-winning communal areas, and a concept that has won multiple awards."

"If we want to understand how society works, we need to consider all perspectives. The Landmarken family brings together exceptionally talented individuals like Leonie to rethink society and develop the real estate concepts needed to support social change. To do this, we must be diverse and bring the right people together in an interdisciplinary manner. Leonie is doing a wonderful job of continuing this work."
