Landmarken and everwave continue cleanup mission in Cambodia
Landmarken is continuing its collaboration with the environmental organization everwave to make a significant contribution to protecting the oceans. Using a special waste collection boat, we are working together to clean up the waters in Cambodia and thus actively contributing to the reduction of plastic waste in the oceans. This initiative underscores our ongoing commitment to the environment.
Given the alarming fact that 684 tons of waste are washed into our oceans via the Mekong River every year, the renewed collaboration between Landmarken and everwave is a clear sign of environmental awareness and sustainable action. Since the partnership began three years ago, 1,000 tons of waste have already been removed from the Mekong and its tributaries—a remarkable achievement that serves only as a starting point for future environmental protection campaigns.
However, the decisive influence of the cleanup mission by everwave and Landmarken extends beyond the removal of waste. This passion project involves establishing a circular economy system in Cambodia and highlights the need to integrate environmental education into the school system. These comprehensive measures pursue sustainable change on the ground and fulfill a social responsibility.
