Landmarken strengthens expertise in sustainability and digitalization
Landmarken AG has strengthened its team in preparation for upcoming tasks in the areas of sustainable portfolio development and digitalization. Following Christian Profanter's appointment as Head of Smart Building last fall, Steffen Glück joined Landmarken in January 2023. The experienced project developer will head up the newly established "Sustainable Portfolio Development" unit.
Steffen Glück, most recently employed in the commercial management of a business park, will focus on optimizing the sustainability and future viability of existing properties in line with EU taxonomy and ESG criteria. "Landmarken offers the right mix of professionalism and implementation power," says the business graduate (technical). "That's why I'm convinced that we can achieve these goals here and achieve a significant reduction in resource consumption, an increase in user satisfaction and, last but not least, a measurable increase in the value of the properties."
The goal is to transform existing commercial buildings that do not excel in terms of energy efficiency or a particularly pleasant atmosphere into inspiring landmarks. Healthy and flexible working environments and opportunities to promote community spirit are just as much a standard feature as connectivity through spatial and digital solutions and a measurable reduction in CO2 emissions. To this end, Landmarken also works closely with its sister company Stadtmarken GmbH, which contributes its "Urban Village" operating concept. As part of this strategy, Landmarken not only wants to acquire selected properties for its own portfolio, but also to offer implementation in partnership with large portfolio holders or as a service for them. Initial discussions are already taking place.
"Our mission is to make the real estate portfolio in Germany attractive again and future-proof in terms of comfort and CO2 consumption."
"We have the solutions and the right team for sustainable portfolio development," says Landmarken CEO Jens Kreiterling. "Our mission is to make Germany's real estate portfolio attractive again and future-proof in terms of comfort and CO2 consumption."
This also applies to Christian Profanter. The South Tyrolean, who comes from a developer of hardware and software solutions for digitally designed buildings, has many years of experience in the field of technical building equipment and efficient energy concepts. "To achieve sustainability in real estate properties, 360-degree digitalization is essential, which includes both the integration of digital technologies and processes. This guarantees the necessary transparency, which is a prerequisite for achieving sustainable milestones," says Christian Profanter, describing his mission. He contributes his expertise to the development, implementation, and operation of all Landmarken properties and neighborhoods. To this end, he will also promote partnerships, e.g., with start-ups in the prop-tech sector. Numerous projects are already benefiting from hardware and software solutions for sustainably operated buildings, including, for example, Landmarken AG's new Spirit Office developments and existing properties such as the Kreuzer Höfe in Bonn and the company's own headquarters in Aachen, the Karmeliterhöfe, which is over 100 years old.
