FIABCI Award: Double award winner
Festive gala in Berlin – double honor for landmark projects: Two of our project developments received awards at the FIABCI Prix d'Excellence Germany ceremony. Our urban development ensemble at Theaterplatz in Aachen won the bronze award, while our Hansator Münster project was selected for the Official Selection.
Both projects create significant added value in urban center locations that were previously burdened with considerable shortcomings. In Aachen, a mix of hotel, residential, office, and restaurant space is revitalizing the area, and a long-vacant monument has been restored to its former glory. In addition, the project has already provided impetus for citizen-friendly traffic planning with the spatial expansion and revitalization of Theaterplatz, which is being reintegrated into city life in a more attractive way. In Münster, a long-neglected brownfield site has been transformed into a new urban quarter that also serves as a second station forecourt and connects two previously separate districts. As an attractive urban link between the city center and the Hansaviertel district, it contributes to holistic urban renewal.
This is already the second award for both projects
Theaterplatz is a mixture of historic buildings and new construction with sophisticated architecture. It creates a lively urban mix of uses in the city center. The concept, which includes a hotel (Motel One), office building (Bankhaus am Theater), and student apartments (WE PARTMENT - Leben am Elisengarten), is bringing new urban vitality to this previously neglected location. We saw Theaterplatz as the right place and, as a catalyst, are sustainably upgrading the surrounding area. The inner-city location is being reactivated and is becoming one of the best locations in Aachen.
in 2018, Hansator won the polis Award in gold for urban land recycling. In the same year, the ensemble at the theater was awarded silver in the Reactivated Centers category of the same award.
