Neighborhood festival at Hansator in Münster
Hansator in Münster, the new urban district near the main railway station, was officially opened with a neighborhood festival. In addition to the neighbors around Hansator, all those involved in the construction and planning were also invited.
The neighborhood festival was opened with a performance by the choir of the Montessori School. The school, located on the opposite side of Bremer Platz, is one of the Hansator's immediate neighbors and has been able to follow the construction progress over the past few years from the front row. The official part of the event then began with a welcome address by NRW Minister of Construction Ina Scharrenbach and a welcome address by Münster's Lord Mayor Markus Lewe, both of whom have been involved in the project from the outset and were present at the groundbreaking ceremony in fall 2018.
In a panel discussion, representatives of the various project participants answered a wide range of questions from citizens about the development of the Hansator. Guests on the podium included Gerhard Wittfeld, managing director of kadawittfeldarchitektur, Michael Jansen, head of station management in Münster for Deutsche Bahn, Nikolas Jorzick, managing partner of the Hamburg Team Group, and Jens Kreiterling, CEO of Landmarken AG.
During the neighborhood festival, visitors had the opportunity to gain insights into the interior of the Hansator through guided tours of the POHA House. Unlike the public areas on the ground floor, this area is otherwise closed to the public. The event was rounded off by an acrobatic performance by the GOP Varieté Theater and musical accompaniment by the "Walking Blues Prophets." In a relaxed atmosphere with delicious food and cold drinks, the guests at the neighborhood festival got into conversation.
In Münster, a brownfield site has been transformed into a new urban quarter that also serves as a second station forecourt and connects two previously separate districts. As an attractive urban link between the city center and the Hansaviertel district, it contributes to holistic urban renewal.
