Münster: Drugstore chain Müller moves into Hansator
Münster. Müller moves into Hansator. Following prizeotel and REWE, the drugstore retailer is another major tenant in the landmark project at the main railway station and will occupy 673 square meters of retail space on the ground floor of the middle tower.
Müller has signed a ten-year lease with two renewal options. With the spacious store, the company will occupy most of the available retail space on the ground floor of the central section of the building. The store will be accessible from both the south and north tunnels. Including ancillary areas in the basement, the retail chain will occupy around 820 square meters of rental space. Additional space directly adjacent to the store is available primarily for restaurant operators
"The Hansator is growing in height, and we are very pleased that demand for the modern and central space we can offer here is also growing," says Christian Hehemann, branch manager of Landmarken AG in Münster. "With the first Müller store ever in Münster, we are also closing a gap that will benefit residents, commuters, and visitors alike."
The product range of the retail company, which has 35,000 employees and almost 900 stores in seven countries, includes products from many areas, from drugstore and perfumery items to multimedia, toys, and stationery, as well as household goods, organic food, and books. The focus at Hansator will be on local supply in order to meet the needs of commuters, residents, and visitors competently, quickly, and conveniently.
Meanwhile, progress is also being made on the construction site of this flagship urban development project. In December, structural work began on Münster's central urban development project, which had already been honored with the polis Award for Urban Land Recycling in 2018. The Hansator will become an urban district with space for residential, hotel, restaurant, and retail use, as well as a bicycle parking garage. The young hotel chain prizeotel will operate a 195-room hotel in the south tower of the complex. A REWE supermarket will offer its range of products on around 730 square meters on the ground floor of the north tower.
The development was preceded by an investor selection process launched by the city of Münster and Deutsche Bahn, from which Landmarken AG emerged as the unanimous winner with its design by kadawittfeldarchitektur. The new station entrance will form a bracket with the equally new Deutsche Bahn reception building on the west side and enable easy passage under the tracks.
