real Estate Manager Award: Landmarken family nominated twice
The jury has deliberated and awarded the Landmarken family a double success with two nominations: While the urban village concept of our sister company Urban Village GmbH was nominated in the management category of the Immobilienmanager Award ("im Award"), the think tank in Bochum, which was completed last year, made it into the top three project developments in the new construction category. The winners will be announced at the im Award gala on March 7 in Cologne.
The think tank is part of O-WERK | Campus, which Landmarken is realizing on the site of the former Opel factory in Bochum. The campus is a beacon of the transformation from an industrial to a knowledge-based society and has an impact far beyond Bochum and the Ruhr region. Despite the coronavirus pandemic and the crisis in Ukraine, the think tank, consisting of three buildings, was not only completed on time and within budget, but was also almost fully leased by the time of completion, creating numerous jobs.
With its transformation from a car factory to an attractive innovation quarter with flair, the O-WERK | Campus enables perfectly networked working and research with many offers for work-life balance – unique in the Ruhr region. The well-being of the people who work there is at the heart of this connecting quarter. The highlight: with the service point for all tenants, the full strength of the Landmarken family from various companies comes into play in this think tank. Run with attention to detail by our sister company Urban Village, the central hub of the connected neighborhood offers a high quality of life, conference rooms, flexible workspaces, and much more. Community manager Valeria Tagliafiero is the contact person for all users and organizes events, activities, and sports programs. Numerous services can be booked via the specially developed Urban Village app, for which local partners are acquired in Bochum.
In line with the successful "Urban Village" concept – also nominated for the "im Award" – the campus is becoming an urban village that is developing a well-connected community. And all this at a location where cars were built for decades on former coal mines. Two secure places on the podium of the "im Award," proving the value of cross-functional collaboration within the Landmarken family!
