SmartLog 3
Here, business and research go hand in hand: our new building on the RWTH Aachen Campus Melaten, the third construction phase of the Logistics Cluster, relies on intelligent building technology that not only meets the latest standards but also offers concrete advantages for all users. The digitalization of the building infrastructure enables particularly economical, resource-saving, and comfortable use of space—tailored to the highest requirements!
An intelligent building that combines state-of-the-art laboratory space with workshop areas, offices, meeting rooms, and event spaces. Sustainable, efficient, and beautiful: with a bright foyer and spacious seating stairs leading to a large, bright atrium, whose space on the first floor can be used as a multifunctional meeting and exhibition area. The core element of the ground floor is the more than 800 m² demonstrator, a multifunctional area for the application and testing of digital components. The flexible office space on the upper floors is accessed via galleries arranged around the atrium – an architectural highlight!
The foyer, atrium, and demonstrator can be interconnected for large events. A small restaurant on the ground floor provides catering and a lively atmosphere. Flexible floor plans ensure a high degree of third-party usability. In addition to a large car park, a bicycle parking facility is also part of the mobility offering. This convertible building is the final construction phase of the Smart Logistics cluster, completing the first cluster in the unique European research landscape of the RWTH Aachen Campus.
With RWTH Aachen University, the research-based charging infrastructure company Metropolitan Cities, and the Center Smart Commercial Building, high-profile users are already on board. Space is still available, so companies and research partners can move into the Smart Commercial Building, which offers the perfect conditions for the interlinking of industry, science, and research. Tenants benefit from direct access to the latest research results, state-of-the-art infrastructure, continuing education opportunities, and young professionals. Space is still available!
