Merger of the local court with the outpatient social services

The tender was for the merger of the Gummersbach District Court with the Ambulant Sozialer Dienst der Justiz (ASD) at a new location.

A sustainable concept was presented for a U-shaped building with resource-saving construction, a landscaped inner courtyard, optimized processes, and an efficient energy concept.

Thanks to its outstanding space efficiency and maximum flexibility, the design, which connects the ASD with the district court without disrupting its operations, made it into the top three in the Europe-wide competition.

    The property, which consists of three buildings with around 28,800 square meters of rental space, including a listed old building, was sold by Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, which will remain as a tenant in the complex until April 2025. As part of its strategy of sustainable portfolio development, Landmarken will renovate the property to improve its energy efficiency.
