Green living in Düsseldorf's trendy district
A green oasis in the middle of the city: four buildings with four to eight above-ground floors blend harmoniously into their surroundings, leaving plenty of space for green open areas.
When the city put out a call for bids for a site in Düsseldorf's trendy Niederkassel district, the Landmarken design submitted jointly with konrath und wennemar architekten und ingenieure beat out more than 30 other entries.
The mix of uses was also convincing: different apartment layouts and living concepts for families, singles, and trainees with a high proportion of price-controlled living space are complemented by a range of restaurants. The outdoor facilities were developed in collaboration with RMP Stephan Lentzen landscape architects.
Restaurants and retail outlets will be available to residents and visitors to the neighborhood in the morning, at lunchtime, and in the evening. Sustainability and climate protection play a special role: district heating, KfW 55, green roofs, sustainable rainwater management, and an intelligent e-charging station management system are some of the points of the ecological concept.
