High quality and affordable
Affordable, high-quality housing and added value for the entire district: "Leben am Sonnenpark" creates an attractive link between the lively Kölner Straße and Sonnenpark, the green heart of Düsseldorf-Oberbilk.
In addition to apartments for families, there will also be apartments for students and trainees, as well as seven studio apartments for artists. These are designed in such a way that a gallery can be integrated within the units. A mobility concept to reduce car traffic and optimally connect urban amenities is also part of the plan. The entire neighborhood will benefit from this and from the commercial units for local shopping and restaurants.
Architecturally, the project blends invigoratingly into the urban structures of the surrounding area. This was ensured by a quality assurance process involving a competition, from which the firm ksg kister scheithauer gross architekten emerged as the winner. In their design, the park's avenue is continued in the new Heerstraße and supplemented by green atriums and light wells. The green residential courtyards break up the perimeter block development, create a visual connection to the park, and increase the quality of living: Many apartments—more than 50 percent of the living space will be publicly subsidized—have a beautiful view of the greenery.
