The Flagship Project: Moringa Hamburg
Groundbreaking and spectacular: In Hamburg’s HafenCity, Landmarken is building Germany’s first residential high-rise strictly in accordance with the Cradle-to-Cradle® principle.
The Moringa is being built in a particularly sustainable manner using recyclable, non-toxic materials and offers as much green space as the developed lot measures in square meters. Approximately 80 percent of the construction and finishing materials will be able to be dismantled, sorted by type, and reused. In a way that is unique to date, the city’s healthiest building combines sustainable construction with affordable housing in a prime location: With approximately 25,000 m² of gross floor area, the Moringa offers 212 rental apartments—more than a third of which are publicly subsidized—as well as communal spaces, a co-living concept, co-working spaces, a daycare center, and dining options. In a fantastic location, the project creates affordable housing for families, couples, young people, and seniors across all income levels. All apartments are certified as allergy-friendly. As a result, the project is considered a trailblazer for the entire industry.
For its pilot project, Landmarken AG has enlisted the experienced Lupp Group as the general contractor. The technical implementation is being carried out by the Landmarken AG team. Following completion of the structural work, interior finishing is already underway. Full completion of the complex is scheduled for 2026.
