A distinguished visitor at Mark 51°7 in Bochum: On Monday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stopped by to learn about the successful transformation of the former Opel plant site.

The jury has convened and bestowed a double victory on the Landmarken family with two nominations: While the Urban Village concept from our sister company, Urban Village GmbH, was nominated in the Management category of the immobilienmanager Award (“im Award”), the “Ideenschmiede” in Bochum—completed last year—made it into the top three project developments in new construction. The winners will be announced at the im Award gala on March 7 in Cologne.

Work is moving along at a brisk pace at the O-Werk | Campus at MARK 51°7: Just four and a half months after the cornerstone was laid for the BrainFactory Bochum, a topping-out ceremony was held this week. The six stories of the fourth new building on the campus are now complete, and interior construction is set to begin: Landmarken AG’s first Spirit Office in the Ruhrgebiet is taking shape. The main tenant will be the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the Raw Materials and Chemical Industry (BG RCI), which will occupy approximately 7,000 square meters in the new building. 1,400 square meters, including a rooftop terrace, are still available. Completion is scheduled for summer 2024.

The O-Werk Campus neighborhood development project by Landmarken AG is generating significant interest in the capital markets. Following the completion in early 2023 of the “Ideenschmiede” complex—comprising three building sections—the sale of Section 3 to La Française Real Estate Managers (REM) has now been finalized. For the buyer, the property—with a leasable area of approximately 5,290 square meters—is its first office building in Bochum. It was acquired on behalf of a collective real estate investment vehicle.

A milestone for the O-Werk | Campus at MARK 51°7: On Friday, the cornerstone was laid for the BrainFactory Bochum, Landmarken AG’s first Spirit Office in the Ruhrgebiet. Designed by New York architect Matthias Hollwich (HWKN), the building is located right next to the O-Werk and can be operated in a climate-neutral manner using geothermal energy from mine water. The main tenant will be the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the Raw Materials and Chemical Industry (BG RCI), which will occupy approximately 7,000 square meters in the new building. 1,400 square meters, including a rooftop terrace, are still available.

The German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the Raw Materials and Chemical Industry (BG RCI) is moving into the BrainFactory Bochum at the O-Werk Campus. In the summer of 2024, as the primary tenant, it will occupy approximately 7,000 square meters in the new building, for which a building permit was recently granted. What makes this project special is that the BrainFactory is being built according to the new “Spirit Offices” office concept, which Landmarken AG developed in collaboration with New York-based architect Mathias Hollwich.

It is one of Bochum’s largest daycare centers and a key component of the neighborhood development of the O-Werk Campus at MARK 51°7: Villa Luna, located across from the O-Werk. The six-class bilingual daycare center, which opened its doors in August, recently held its grand opening celebration. Construction took just five months.

Bochum. O-Werk Campus, a key pillar of the neighborhood development at MARK 51°7, is filling up: Following the arrival of Viactiv health insurance, two young tech companies are now moving into the new development by Landmarken AG.

Even though the festive gala unfortunately had to be canceled, the excitement remained undiminished: Two Landmarken projects were honored at the FIABCI Prix d’Excellence awards ceremony.
