Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C): Building as perfectly as nature
A new way of thinking is needed to implement forward-looking and visionary projects that are developed in a circular rather than linear fashion. We want to set an example and are actively committed to changing the processes and materials used in the construction industry. That is why we founded Moringa GmbH as part of our corporate family in 2020.
The name says it all: Moringa is derived from a healthy "super plant," the so-called miracle tree Moringa Olifeira, which is said to have many beneficial properties.
And that's what it's all about, because we create healthy architecture in which people feel comfortable and nature is protected. Resources are not "consumed" but only "used" so that they can be reused later.
Moringa is an innovative expert in C2C concepts and a source of recommendations for the industry and its users. The goal: to build as perfectly as nature does. Cradle-to-Cradle shows us how resources can be (re)used economically and ecologically in harmony with people and the environment. Moringa conserves resources and demonstrates that circular economy can pay off in many ways.
We were able to recruit Vanja Schneider as managing director for Moringa. The C2C expert supports the goal of changing processes in the construction industry and taking clear responsibility for people and the environment.
After all, responsible action in the real estate industry does not have to be at odds with economic success – quite the contrary. Potential higher investment costs due to a more sustainable and detailed planning and construction phase for a property can – when considering the entire life cycle of a building – significantly reduce costs: not least, there are also economic benefits in terms of reduced energy costs, shorter maintenance intervals, and lower maintenance and demolition costs.
Our entire corporate family can only benefit from Moringa's experience in the area of C2C and hopefully implement many of these ideas in our own projects. In this way, we want to achieve a lasting ecological impact in the future – for the planet and for people.
