Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C): Building as Perfectly as Nature
A new way of thinking is needed to implement forward-looking and visionary projects that are developed not in a linear fashion, but in a circular manner. We aim to set an example and are actively committed to transforming processes and materials in the construction industry. That is why we founded Moringa GmbH in 2020 as part of our corporate family.
The name says it all: Moringa is derived from a healthy “superplant,” the so-called miracle tree Moringa olifera, which is said to have many beneficial properties.
And that is what it is all about, because we create healthy architecture in which people feel at ease and nature is preserved. Resources are not “consumed” but merely “utilized,” so that they can be reused later.
Moringa is an innovation-driven expert in C2C concepts and a trusted advisor to the industry and its users. The goal: Building as perfect as nature. Cradle-to-Cradle shows us how resources can be (re)used economically and ecologically in harmony with people and the environment. Moringa conserves resources and demonstrates that a circular economy can pay off in many ways.
We were able to bring Vanja Schneider on board as Managing Director of Moringa. The C2C expert supports the goal of transforming the construction industry’s processes and assuming clear responsibility toward people and the environment.
After all, responsible action need not conflict with economic success in the real estate industry—quite the contrary. Potentially higher investment costs resulting from a more sustainable and detailed planning and construction phase of a property can—when considering the entire life cycle of a building—lead to significant cost savings: economically speaking, this includes reduced energy costs, shorter maintenance intervals, and lower maintenance and demolition costs.
Our entire corporate family can only benefit from Moringa’s experience in the C2C sector and, hopefully, implement many of these practices in our own projects as well. In this way, we aim to achieve a lasting ecological impact in the future—for the planet and for people.
